★ Collector Specimen

One of this season's highlighted specimens. Hand-selected, photographed as the exact plant you receive.

New leaf update July 2. Showing pink 🩷

Alocasia 'Venom Pink'. The pink-variegated expression of cult 'Venom' — same fang-tipped, shield-shaped leaf and raised venation, here broken with blush-to-rose sectors over a deep, near-black blade. No two leaves variegate alike. The contrast is the whole point.

The cultivar

'Venom' began as a spontaneous mutation of Alocasia 'Amazonica', discovered by Mason Lee (Mason Plants, South Korea) around 2019 and stabilised over several years before release. The leaf is shield-shaped with softly undulating margins, raised venation and a lightly puckered surface — and the signature curled, tail-like tip the name refers to.

The 'Pink' expression carries anthocyanin-driven variegation: irregular sectors of pink, blush and pale rose across the dark blade. Unlike a reverting pink, this is inherent to the cultivar and relatively stable — colour deepens with maturity and bright light rather than fading out. Expression and amount vary leaf to leaf; each emergence is its own.

This specimen

  • Stage: Juvenile
  • Type: Stemcut
  • Leaves: 2 - pushing new with good visible variegation
  • Pot: 5cm
  • Variegation: visible
  • Notes: Acclimated and ready to ship

One specimen. Photographed as received. No restock.

Care, briefly

  • Light: Bright indirect. The pink needs light to hold — too little and it fades back, direct sun scorches the pale sectors.
  • Water: Thorough, then let the mix partially dry. Roughly every 5–10 days; stretch in winter. Never wet feet.
  • Humidity: 65%+. Dry air shows fast as crisping margins and tip.
  • Mix: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix with airflow at the roots as she gets older.
  • Warmth: 22–27°C. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
  • Pace: A new leaf every 6–10 weeks in season is normal for this cultivar.
