The collector behind the collection.
I'm Tess. I've been collecting rare Alocasias and Anthuriums longer than I've been selling them. Plant.ess exists because I couldn't find a shop that talked to collectors the way I'd want to be talked to.
EXPLORE THE COLLECTION
Why Plant.ess.
The rare plant market felt broken to me. Mislabeled specimens passed around between growers. Stock photos instead of the actual plant that shipped. Vague shipping windows. Zero accountability when something arrived compromised.
Plant.ess exists to do the opposite — because I wanted a shop I'd trust as a collector myself. Real photos. Named sourcing. Plants that pass through my grow space before they're listed. Policies written in plain language.
If it's here, I've already stood behind it.
Every plant passes through here first.
Before a specimen is listed, it sits on my shelf. I watch it root, acclimate, push a new leaf. If a plug fails QC, if a cultivar doesn't express like the source claimed — it doesn't ship. It's how I keep the shop tight.
I also design and 3D-print every self-watering pot here in the same studio — tested on my own plants before they ever get listed.
I don't sell plants or pots I wouldn't buy myself. Everything on this site has been chosen, tested, or made — not just sourced.
What I do here.
Rare plants. Collector-grade Alocasias and Anthuriums, sourced clean, listed with full identity.
TC pre-orders. Tissue culture direct from the lab — for collectors who'd rather wait than pay 3–5x once it's acclimated.
3D-printed self-watering pots. Designed and printed in my studio. Small-batch, never mass-made.
Real guides and context. What I'd want to know as a buyer — nothing more, nothing less.
For collectors who know.
Not everything is for everyone. If you've read this far, you're probably the person this shop was built for.
