The cross and the mother

★ Clone · October release

A clone taken from a proven variegated mother. You receive the exact plant photographed.

Anthurium (SKG Silver × Red Crystallinum) × (Papillilaminum Variegated × Carlablackiae). Three leaves, variegated, on established roots. The furthest along specimen we have released from this cross.

The cross

The seed side pairs SKG Silver, from the Silver Krome Gardens line in Redlands, Florida, with Red Crystallinum. Silver venation on one side, red pigment on the other.

The pollen side is variegated papillilaminum over carlablackiae, the same pairing that produced our own mother Aurora (M01). The variegation comes from a parent that already carries it, which is the difference between a plant that holds its pattern and one that drifts.

Clone, not a seedling

Taken vegetatively from a proven variegated mother, so it carries her genetics rather than rolling the dice on a new seed grown combination. Sectoral patterns shift leaf to leaf, so every new leaf is its own reveal.

At three leaves it is past the stage where a variegated clone is fragile. This is the part of the growth curve most collectors would rather buy than wait for.

This specimen

  • Type: Clone from a proven variegated mother, not seed grown
  • Leaves: 3
  • Variegation: Present and reading clearly across the foliage
  • Roots: Established
  • Included: Inner pot
  • Notes: Variegated tissue leans on its green, so this one is for growers who already keep Anthuriums.

One specimen. Photographed as received. Sold once and not repeated.

Care, briefly

  • Light: Bright indirect, never direct, which scorches the variegated sections first. Good light keeps the colour clean.
  • Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings.
  • Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. Steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
  • Humidity: 65%+ suits a variegated plant, but consistent warmth and airflow matter more.
  • Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix of bark, perlite and charcoal, fast draining.
  • Shipping: Ships with a heat pack included, Mondays from Sweden, under the Live Arrival Guarantee.
