Anthurium (SKG Silver × Red Crystallinum) × (Pap Var × Carlablackiae) | High Variegated Clone, 2 Leaves #2
Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.
★ Clone · Collector Specimen
A clone from a proven variegated mother. You receive the exact plant photographed.
Anthurium (SKG Silver × Red Crystallinum) × (Papillilaminum Variegated × Carlablackiae). Two leaves, high grade variegation, and hints of pink already coming through. Four named parents, two of them among the most wanted velvets in the genus.
The cross
The seed side pairs SKG Silver, from the Silver Krome Gardens line in Redlands, Florida, with Red Crystallinum. Silver venation on one side, red pigment on the other, and that red is where the pink on this plant comes from.
The pollen side is variegated papillilaminum over carlablackiae, the same pairing that produced our own mother Aurora (M01). Variegation is coming from a parent that already carries it, which is the difference between a plant that holds its pattern and one that drifts.
Clone, not a seedling
This plant was taken vegetatively from a proven variegated mother, so it carries her genetics rather than rolling the dice on a new seed grown combination. The variegation is already showing on this plant, not promised for later. Sectoral patterns shift leaf to leaf, so every new leaf is its own reveal.
This specimen
- Type: Clone from a proven variegated mother, not seed grown
- Leaves: 2
- Variegation: High grade, with hints of pink showing
- Pot: 5cm
- Included: Inner pot
- Notes: Variegated tissue leans on its green, so this one is for growers who already keep Anthuriums.
One specimen. Photographed as received. Sold once and not repeated.
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, never direct, which scorches the variegated sections first. Good light is what brings pink tones forward instead of letting them wash out.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings.
- Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. Steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Humidity: 65%+ suits a variegated plant, but consistent warmth and airflow matter more.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix of bark, perlite and charcoal, fast draining.
- Pace: Two leaves in a 5cm pot, so let the roots fill in before sizing up. New leaves harden over a couple of weeks. Give it time.
