Anthurium (Red Crystallinum × Self) × Michelle | High Variegated Clone
Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.
★ Clone · Collector Specimen
A clone taken from a proven variegated mother. You receive the exact plant photographed.
Anthurium (Red Crystallinum × Self) × Michelle. A two leaf clone with high grade variegation and a strong, well built root system. One of the most requested crosses we have carried, back in stock.
The cross
Red Crystallinum selfed concentrates the red tones and the crystallinum sheen instead of diluting them, which is the whole point of a self cross. Michelle then brings the high contrast venation and burgundy new growth she is known for.
The result is a broad leaf with bright venation, warm red undertones in the new growth, and enough substance to carry variegation well. This combination has sold out every time we have listed it.
Clone, not a seedling
This plant was taken vegetatively from a proven variegated mother, so it carries her genetics rather than rolling the dice on a new seed grown combination. The variegation is already showing on this plant, not promised for later. Sectoral patterns shift leaf to leaf, so every new leaf is its own reveal.
This specimen
- Type: Clone from a proven variegated mother, not seed grown
- Leaves: 2
- Variegation: High grade
- Roots: Strong, well developed root system
- Included: Inner pot
- Notes: Rooted and growing. Variegated tissue leans on its green, so this one is for growers who already keep Anthuriums.
One specimen. Photographed as received. Sold once and not repeated.
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, never direct, which scorches the variegated sections first. Good light keeps the colour clean.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings.
- Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. Steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Humidity: 65%+ suits a variegated plant, but consistent warmth and airflow matter more.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix of bark, perlite and charcoal, fast draining.
- Pace: Two leaves and a strong root system, so it is past the fragile stage. Let it settle before sizing up. New leaves harden over a couple of weeks. Give it time.
