Anthurium Papillilaminum 'LA05' × (Forgetii × Ace of Spades DF) | High Variegated Clone #2
Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.
★ Clone · Collector Specimen
A clone taken from a proven variegated mother. You receive the exact plant photographed.
Anthurium Papillilaminum 'LA05' × (Forgetii × Ace of Spades DF). A two leaf clone with high grade variegation and strong visible roots. Three named parents, no filler.
The cross
LA05 is a numbered papillilaminum selection, the kind of traceable clone collectors look for instead of an unnamed pap. It brings the classic broad velvet blade and pale venation.
On the other side, forgetii contributes the rounded, earless leaf shape and fine silver venation, and Ace of Spades Dark Form is there for depth of colour. The result sits between shape and darkness, with more structure than a straight pap cross.
Clone, not a seedling
This plant was taken vegetatively from a proven variegated mother, so it carries her genetics rather than rolling the dice on a new seed grown combination. The variegation is already showing on this plant, not promised for later. Sectoral patterns shift leaf to leaf, so every new leaf is its own reveal.
This specimen
- Type: Clone from a proven variegated mother, not seed grown
- Leaves: 2
- Variegation: High grade
- Roots: Good, visible and healthy
- Included: Inner pot
- Notes: Rooted and growing. Variegated velvet leans on its green tissue, so this one is for growers who already keep velvet Anthuriums.
One specimen. Photographed as received. Sold once and not repeated.
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, never direct, which scorches the velvet and the variegated sections first. Good light keeps the colour clean.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings. Keep water off the velvet.
- Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. With velvet Anthuriums, steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Humidity: 65%+ suits a variegated velvet, but consistent warmth and airflow matter more.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix of bark, perlite and charcoal, fast draining.
- Pace: Two leaves and healthy roots, so it is past the fragile stage. Let it settle before sizing up. New leaves harden over a couple of weeks. Give it time.
