Anthurium 'Guna Yala' × RVDP | High Variegated Clone with Peach Tones
Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.
★ Clone · Collector Specimen
A clone taken from a proven variegated mother. You receive the exact plant photographed.
Anthurium 'Guna Yala' × RVDP. A one leaf clone with exceptional variegation that is already pulling peach tones, on good roots. This is the cross people ask us to restock.
The cross
Guna Yala is the dark Panamanian form named after the region it comes from, selected for depth of colour and heavy substance. RVDP, Red Vein Dark Phoenix, brings the red venation that line is known for.
Dark on dark with warm venation running through it, and on this plant the variegation is already showing peach rather than plain cream. That combination of colour on a dark velvet base is what makes this cross difficult to find.
Clone, not a seedling
This plant was taken vegetatively from a proven variegated mother, so it carries her genetics rather than rolling the dice on a new seed grown combination. The variegation is already showing on this plant, not promised for later. Sectoral patterns shift leaf to leaf, so every new leaf is its own reveal.
This specimen
- Type: Clone from a proven variegated mother, not seed grown
- Stage: Baby, one leaf
- Leaves: 1
- Variegation: Exceptional, with peach tones already showing
- Roots: Good, well developed
- Included: Inner pot
- Notes: A one leaf baby carrying a lot of colour for its size. Variegated velvet leans on its green tissue, so this one is for growers who already keep dark Anthuriums.
One specimen. Photographed as received. Sold once and not repeated.
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, never direct, which scorches the velvet and the coloured sections first. Good light is what keeps peach tones from washing out.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings. Keep water off the velvet.
- Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. With velvet Anthuriums, steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Humidity: 65%+ suits a variegated velvet, but consistent warmth and airflow matter more.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix of bark, perlite and charcoal, fast draining.
- Pace: One leaf on good roots. Keep it stable, let the roots build before sizing up, and watch the colour settle as it matures. Give it time.
