Anthurium Forgetii × RVDP Mutated | Baby, 5 Leaves
Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.
★ Mutated Clone · Five Leaves
Every leaf on this plant shows the mutation. You receive the exact plant photographed.
Anthurium Forgetii × RVDP, mutated. A small plant with five leaves, and the mutation is clearly expressed on all five. Mutated growth at this size, and at this price, does not come up often.
The cross
Forgetii is the closed one: a near round blade with no basal lobes at all, bright silver venation and a compact, tidy habit. It is the parent people use when they want shape.
RVDP, Red Vein Dark Phoenix, comes from the other direction. Dark tissue with warm red venation running through it, built for depth rather than outline. Together you get the forgetii silhouette carrying Dark Phoenix colour.
The mutation
What matters here is that the mutation shows on every leaf, not on one lucky one. A single mutated leaf tells you nothing. Five in a row is the plant telling you it does this consistently.
That track record is normally something you only get on a large, expensive specimen. This one is small enough to be priced as a baby while already carrying the evidence.
This specimen
- Leaves: 5
- Mutation: Clearly expressed on every leaf
- Pot: 5cm
- Included: Inner pot
- Notes: A small plant with a lot of leaves on it. Best for growers who already keep velvet Anthuriums.
One specimen. Photographed as received. Sold once and not repeated.
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, never direct, which scorches the velvet first. Good light keeps the venation defined.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings. Keep water off the velvet.
- Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. With velvet Anthuriums, steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Humidity: 65%+, with consistency mattering more than high numbers.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix of bark, perlite and charcoal, fast draining.
- Pace: Five leaves in a 5cm pot, so let the roots fill in before sizing up. New leaves harden over a couple of weeks. Give it time.
