Anthurium (Carlablackiae × Papillilaminum) × Ace of Spades | High Variegated Clone of Orion
Clone from Orion · M06Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.
★ Clone of Orion · M06
A clone from our in house mother plant Orion (M06). The mother is not for sale, her clones are. You receive the exact plant photographed.
Anthurium (Carlablackiae × Papillilaminum) × Ace of Spades. A one leaf clone from our mother Orion (M06), with high grade variegation and roots already visible. The earliest entry point into this line.
The mother
Orion (M06) has been on our bench since August 2025. Carlablackiae × papillilaminum already combines the two most requested velvet parents in the hobby. Ace of Spades is added for depth of colour rather than for shape. Orion holds the rounded carlablackiae outline with the leaf substance papillilaminum brings, finished in the near black AOS is selected for.
Her variegation is sectoral and present across her current leaves. This plant is a clone taken directly from her, not a seedling, so it carries her genetics rather than rolling the dice on a new combination. Variegation is already showing on this plant. The exact pattern shifts leaf to leaf, so every new leaf is its own reveal.
This specimen
- Type: Clone from mother Orion (M06), not seed grown
- Stage: Baby, one leaf
- Leaves: 1
- Variegation: High grade
- Roots: Visible and growing
- Included: Inner pot
- Notes: A one leaf baby. Variegated velvet leans on its green tissue, so this one is for growers who already keep velvet Anthuriums.
One specimen. Photographed as received. The mother is shown for reference only.
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, never direct, which scorches the velvet and the variegated sections first. Good light keeps the colour clean.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings. Keep water off the velvet.
- Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. With velvet Anthuriums, steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Humidity: 65%+ suits a variegated velvet, but consistent warmth and airflow matter more.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix of bark, perlite and charcoal, fast draining.
- Pace: One leaf and visible roots means it is still establishing. Keep it stable, let the roots build before sizing up, and expect the next leaf to take its time. Give it time.

Orion
This specimen is a rooted clone taken from her, not a seedling. Same variegation genetics, same leaf architecture, same growth habit. What she looks like today is what this plant becomes.
The photograph is not an illustration of what your plant might become. It is the specification.
