Anthurium Ace of Spades DF × (Papillilaminum × RVDP) | High Variegated Clone of Spade
Clone from Spade · M07Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.
★ Clone of Spade · M07
A clone from our in house mother plant Spade (M07). The mother is not for sale, her clones are. You receive the exact plant photographed.
Anthurium Ace of Spades DF × (Papillilaminum × RVDP). A one leaf clone from our mother Spade (M07), with high grade variegation and a good root system already in place.
The mother
Spade has been on our bench since December 2025. Dark Form Ace of Spades sits on the pod side, which is the darker selection of an already dark plant. Papillilaminum × RVDP contributes leaf length and the red venation that runs through the Dark Phoenix line.
In ambient light she reads almost flat black. The venation only appears under strong side light. That is the intended effect, not a shortcoming. Variegation on a plant this dark is where it gets interesting, because the contrast is absolute.
Clone, not a seedling
This plant was taken vegetatively from Spade, so it carries her genetics rather than rolling the dice on a new seed grown combination. The variegation is already showing on this plant, not promised for later. Sectoral patterns shift leaf to leaf, so every new leaf is its own reveal.
This specimen
- Type: Clone from mother Spade (M07), not seed grown
- Stage: Baby, one leaf
- Leaves: 1
- Variegation: High grade
- Roots: Good, well developed root system
- Included: Inner pot
- Notes: A one leaf baby. Variegated velvet leans on its green tissue, so this one is for growers who already keep dark Anthuriums.
One specimen. Photographed as received. The mother is shown for reference only.
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, never direct, which scorches the velvet and the variegated sections first. Strong side light is what makes the venation show.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings. Keep water off the velvet.
- Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. With velvet Anthuriums, steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Humidity: 65%+ suits a variegated velvet, but consistent warmth and airflow matter more.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix of bark, perlite and charcoal, fast draining.
- Pace: One leaf with good roots, so it has a base to build from. Keep it stable and let the roots fill in before sizing up. Give it time.
Thank you for collecting with us.
Spade
This specimen is a rooted clone taken from her, not a seedling. Same variegation genetics, same leaf architecture, same growth habit. What she looks like today is what this plant becomes.
The photograph is not an illustration of what your plant might become. It is the specification.
