Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.

The exact plant photographed. The last photo is a reference of a mature leaf
Alocasia scabriuscula × Alocasia reginae, variegated. An uncommon cross that collectors rarely get the chance to buy, and this is the way in at the start: a young plant with fine variegation, healthy growth and good roots.
The plant
Scabriuscula and reginae are close Bornean relatives, both thick-bladed and sculptural, with the heavy, leathery texture that makes this group so collectable. The cross brings that together in a compact plant with real presence.
Buying it young means you grow it out yourself and watch the variegation develop leaf by leaf. The last photo shows a mature plant for reference, so you can see where this one is heading.
This specimen
- Size: Baby plant in a 5 cm pot
- Variegation: Fine, clearly visible variegation
- Health: Healthy, with a good root system
- Included: Inner pot
- Photos: The exact plant you receive. Last photo is a reference of a mature plant/leaf.
- Availability: One plant
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, never direct. Good light holds the variegation; variegated sections burn first in direct sun.
- Water: Evenly moist, never wet. A reservoir-based setup keeps a small plant steady.
- Warmth: 20 to 26°C and stable. Temperature matters more than humidity. Nothing below 15°C.
- Mix: Airy, chunky and fast draining. Semi hydro works very well for this genus.
- Pace: Keep it in a small pot until the roots fill it. Babies grow fastest when they are not overpotted.
