Anthurium (Papillilaminum × Crystallinum) × Black Velvet Eastern Panama | High Variegated Collector Clone
Clone from Sable · M13Every figure here describes the specimen in the photographs as it is today, not the mother plant.
★ Clone of Sable · M13
A clone from our in house mother plant Sable (M13). The mother is not for sale, her clones are. You receive the exact plant photographed.
Anthurium (Papillilaminum × Crystallinum) × Black Velvet Eastern Panama. A high variegated clone from our mother plant Sable (M13), gold and cream breaking across dark velvet.
The mother
Sable (M13) is one of our in house mother plants. Her cross sets a papillilaminum and crystallinum velvet base, all pillowy texture and bright crystalline veining, onto Black Velvet Eastern Panama, a deep near black velvet from eastern Panama. The result is dark, velvety and heavy in substance.
Sable throws high grade gold and cream variegation, and this clone carries it. Because it is taken directly from her, it follows her genetics rather than a seed grown gamble. Variegation is guaranteed on this plant. The exact pattern, colour and balance shift leaf to leaf as it grows, so every new leaf is its own.
This specimen
- Type: Clone from mother Sable (M13)
- Stage: young, from activated growth
- Leaves: 1
- Roots: Strong, well established
- Pot: 7cm
- Variegation: High grade, gold and cream. Guaranteed, pattern varies leaf to leaf
- Included: Inner pot
- Notes: Acclimated and ready to ship. Heavily variegated velvet leans on its green, so this one is for experienced growers.
One specimen. Photographed as received. The mother is shown for reference only.
Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect, and generous. The green carries the variegation and light holds the gold and cream. Direct sun scorches the pale sectors.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist, never wet, letting the surface just dry between waterings. Keep water off the velvet.
- Warmth: 20 to 25°C and stable. With velvet Anthuriums, steady warmth matters more than chasing humidity. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Humidity: 65%+ suits a variegated velvet, but consistent warmth and airflow matter more.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix (bark, perlite and charcoal), fast draining.
- Pace: A slow, deliberate grower, slower still with heavy variegation. From activated growth and rooting well, so it is off to a strong start. Give it time.

Sable
This specimen is a rooted clone taken from her, not a seedling. Same variegation genetics, same leaf architecture, same growth habit. What she looks like today is what this plant becomes.
The photograph is not an illustration of what your plant might become. It is the specification.
