Anthurium 'Queen of Hearts' × clarinervium (Variegated)
★ Birthday Anthurium · Featured Specimen
One of this season's highlighted specimens. Hand-selected, photographed as the exact plant you receive.
Anthurium 'Queen of Hearts' × clarinervium. Dark drama meets bold white veining — thick, heart-shaped leaves that flush red and harden near-black, laced with clarinervium's silver-white network, and variegated on this plant.
The cross
'Queen of Hearts' is a dramatic dark hybrid — heart-shaped leaves that emerge glossy red to chocolate and harden to deep green and near-black, with an upright, moody presence. Anthurium clarinervium (Mexico) brings the opposite signature: thick, leathery, almost cardboard-stiff heart leaves with a bold, contrasting silver-white vein network, grown lithophytically on limestone.
Together they make a substantial, heart-shaped leaf with real thickness — red on emergence, darkening with age, and crossed with strong pale veining. This plant also carries variegation over that blade. Each leaf is its own, and variegated tissue leans on its green to grow.

Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect — the clarinervium side takes good light well; direct sun still marks and scorches.
- Water: Let the mix approach dryness between waterings — more than a pure velvet would. Clarinervium roots resent staying wet. Faint cosmetic leaf marks are normal in this group.
- Humidity: 60%+. Variegated edges brown fast in dry air.
- Mix: Very airy, chunky epiphytic mix with some mineral content — a nod to clarinervium's limestone roots.
- Warmth: 18–27°C. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Pace: Holds a tidy crown of thick leaves — new ones emerge red and harden dark over a couple of weeks.

One window,three days.
This piece has lived on our shelves long enough to know its rhythm — rooted, photographed, and firm-checked before it joined the Birthday Collection. Year 1 isn't a sale, it's an anniversary — and the plants here were held back from the regular shelves for exactly this window.
One plant. One owner. When she's gone, she's gone.
Rare. Selected. Limited. The way it should be — and the way it always is here.
