★ Birthday Anthurium · Featured Specimen

Anthurium (papillilaminum × crystallinum) × (debilis × RVDP). A velvet seedling bred for colour — this line shifts through pink, peach and orange tones, and the new leaf is already pushing with variegation visible in the sheath.
The cross
The seed side, papillilaminum × crystallinum, is a dark velvet leaf with crystalline silver veining and red-flushing new growth. The pollen side carries RVDP — 'Red Vein Dark Phoenix' (Siam Flora), a papillilaminum-variegata × 'Ace of Spades' hybrid from the same seed batch that produced 'Peach Lava' — a line known for deep maroon velvet, red veins and warm emergent colour.
Put together, this is a velvet anthurium built for colour: emergent leaves can run pink, peach and orange before they settle — the phase collectors chase in this line — and it carries variegation on top. Seed-grown and one of a kind; the colour and variegation it throws are the whole point, not the leaf count.

Care, briefly
- Light: Bright indirect — never direct, which marks the velvet and scorches the variegation. Stable bright light helps the colour and variegation come in strong.
- Water: Lightly and evenly moist — never wet. A young single-leaf plant is sensitive to wet feet; keep water off the velvet.
- Humidity: 65%+. Stable, high humidity helps the pushing leaf open cleanly.
- Mix: Airy, chunky epiphytic mix — bark, perlite and charcoal — fast-draining.
- Warmth: 20–27°C. No cold draughts, nothing below 15°C.
- Pace: It is a seedling — give it stability to build leaf count, and the colour phases reveal themselves as each new leaf hardens.
Thank you for collecting with us.
One window,three days.
This piece has lived on our shelves long enough to know its rhythm — rooted, photographed, and firm-checked before it joined the Birthday Collection. Year 1 isn't a sale, it's an anniversary — and the plants here were held back from the regular shelves for exactly this window.
One plant. One owner. When she's gone, she's gone.
Rare. Selected. Limited. The way it should be — and the way it always is here.
